| dc.description.abstract | This thesis contains findings of the study that was carried out in the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Machakos and Nairobi Central Regions with the aim of evaluating the present organisational structure of the Africa Inland Church. The AIC is a mission founded church established in Kenya over a hundred years ago. The research sought to determine the relationship between organisational structure and problems facing the AIC today, analyse the benefits of regular review of leadership structure and establish a level of awareness among leaders and the laity of the shortcomings of the present organisational structure. Since the aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the present organisational structure of the AIC, its findings will be useful to the church leadership as it seeks to improve the church`s performance. The assumption that organisational structure has a crucial role to play in the process of growth and development of the church provided the motivation to undertake this study. The study indeed revealed that there are hiccups in the present organisational structure of the Africa Inland Church that have to be adequately addressed if the church is to make meaningful progress in carrying out its mission. The ineffectiveness of the current organisational structure of the Africa Inland Church is responsible for financial constraints being experienced in the church today, rampant collapse of church sponsored development projects, incompetence and lack of professionalism among church workers, ineffective and inefficient decision making, poor planning, decline in membership, sluggish church growth and decline in giving.in order to overcome these problems, it is recommended that the church review its organisational structure and implement principles and procedures that are both biblical and effective. The church`s structure should facilitate its mission namely: worship, evangelism, discipleship and apostolic-prophetic. The study found out that the present organisational structure of the Africa Inland Church is not adequately serving the church and therefore needs to be improved. | en_US |
