    Abstract
Air Traffic Flow Management is a strategic operational framework aimed at optimizing airspace utilization and minimizing operational delays by balancing traffic demand with available capacity. Despite investments in radar, ADS-B, and Performance-Based Navigation technologies, Kenyan airspace continues to experience persistent delays, highlighting the need for strategic technological interventions. This study investigates the impact of technology forecasting and systems integration on delay reduction through ATFM in Kenyan airspace. The research is guided by Systems Theory, which emphasizes interdependence among aviation subsystems, and Diffusion of Innovation Theory, which explains how new technological practices are adopted and institutionalized. An explanatory research design was employed, targeting a population of 551 aviation stakeholders directly involved in airspace management, including air navigation service providers, air traffic controllers, airline operations personnel, airport operators, and regulatory authorities. A sample of 265 respondents was determined using Yamane’s formula, and 232 completed questionnaires were collected, yielding a response rate of 87.6 percent. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression to examine relationships between technology forecasting, systems integration, and delay reduction. Findings reveal that both technology forecasting and systems integration significantly reduce delays, with systems integration exerting a stronger influence. The study concludes that proactive technological planning combined with interoperable system architectures is critical for enhancing ATFM performance. Recommendations include strengthening forecasting mechanisms, integrating ATFM-related systems, and building institutional capacity to improve airspace efficiency and operational reliability.
