dc.description.abstractThis study sought to examine the influence of Monitoring and Evaluation tools on completion of secondary school construction projects in Kenya. A case of Kajiado West Sub-County and use the findings to improve the completion of these projects, the findings of this study will also be helpful to school managers as it will provide an insight on how monitoring and evaluation tools can influence the completion of secondary school construction projects. It will also provide assistance in formulation of policy in key areas of planning, implementation and completion of construction projects. The specific objectives of the study were; to Assess the influence of work plan on the completion of construction projects in secondary schools in Kenya, to establish the influence of work breakdown plan on the completion of construction projects in secondary schools in Kenya and to determine how progress reports influence the completion of construction projects in secondary schools in Kenya. The study adopted descriptive survey design. The target population for this study was 104 respondents (Head teachers, BOM chairpersons, PTA chairpersons and student representatives drawn from 26 Public secondary schools in Kajiado West Sub County). The study used census sampling to select the respondents. A structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data. The study used Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS). Correlation analysis was undertaken to show the relationships between the study variables. The findings were presented in figures and tables. A total number of 104 respondents were targeted, out of which 93 respondents availed the data. The data was analyzed both descriptively and inferentially using SPSS. The findings showed that Monitoring and Evaluation tools have an influence on projects completion. The study concluded that there is a need to incorporate these tools in project management. The study recommended that project management officers should be empowered with skills and knowledge in order to understand how monitoring and evaluation tools can be utilized.en_US
